Dos Vaqueros, located in South Texas, is an historic working cattle ranch, with 1500 head of cattle. Here you will experience real cowboys rope, brand, and move cattle. There are plenty of active dude ranch activities where you can go on horseback rides, or join the ranch hands as they work cattle and eat a chuck wagon breakfast or dinner. The food is cooked cowboy style on the mesquite grill at the Post Oak Mott Arena in the pasture. There you can also experience close up the cowboys doing team steer roping. At the Longhorn Saloon, you can get active with country western music and dancing and sitting on logs around the campfire. The additional activities include
golf, a large swimming pool, fishing rod or venture out on a hike to experience the local wildlife such as feral hog, whitetail deer, bobcat, javelina, sand hill crane, turkey, and night time coyote calling.

This is a working cattle ranch where for 3 the Hommel family has taken strides to offer their guests an opportunity to share life on a working Texas cattle ranch. Here you can experience close up the cowboys as they perform their daily chores with cattle drives, feeding, fence repair, as well as the a variety of other ranch chores. If you choose to, you can either hop on the saddle and join in the work, or just watch. Other activities include a horseback ride across the rolling prairie, a stroll along the creek, hike or mountain biking, horseshoes, volleyball and fishing. Cowboy style cooking is the order with mesquite-grilled steaks and all of the trimmings like homemade cobbler and a crackling campfire while you wind down the evening with the sounds of the crickets and the coyotes call.

This is a dude ranch 35 horses on 230 acres with horseback riding as it's centerpiece of all activities. You can ride each day into the Hill Country State Natural Area a park with over 5,500 acres adjoining the ranch. The state park has over 40 miles of trails with the highest point in Bandera County, Horseback riding for two hours a day is the standard, but you can also choose to take the hours as two one-hour. For the more adventurous, saddle up for a four or five-hour ride one day, where you will take lunch with you on the trail and get to experience once in a lifetime views. There are other activities like mountain biking, and hiking to experience the wide variety of wildlife including birds, white tail deer, jack rabbits, cottontails, wild turkeys, and swimming.
