Ionian Islands region

Zakynthos is one of the greenest islands in Greece. It is steeped in history, and supports a wealth of flora and fauna.
The climate is mild even in Winter (15 - 25oC) This provides the wealth of fruit, vegetables and beautiful gardens.
There are several museums on the island. The patron saint is St. Dennis, and the cathedral is a must visit whether you're religious or not. The northern end of the island is mountainous and rugged and dotted with small villagers less influenced by tourism, excellent for walking excursions.

"The East Flower", Zakynthos the Venetians used to call Zakynthos. It's also been called "Little Paris" and "Greek Florence".
View the main-land from the Venetian Kastro! Visit one of the many bars and discos that ensure the nightlife continues till dawn!
The island has the famous "Shipwreck beach", the most photographed beach in Europe.
Take a swim at the unbelievable blue, ravishing Shipwreck Beach!
See the Blue Caves, unusually beautiful, formed by the water of the sea eternally hitting the rocks and 'eating' them.
Discover Zakynthos your-self, for whatever one might tell you will not be enough.

Zakynthos / Vassilikos area.

Vassilikos peninsular located at the south-eastern end of Zakynthos. Is renowned for its natural beauty and wonderful beaches. The village centre is a 5 minute walk away. Here you will find a selection of excellent taverns serving traditional Greek meals. Some have live Greek music singing cantatas, Zakynthian love songs. There are several supermarkets and gift shops in the village selling souvenirs and beach requisites. Vassilikos village is one of the prettiest parts of Zakynthos with many beautiful, sandy beaches to choose all accessible on foot or by car. Many of them are near to
the accommodation. Start by visiting Porto Zoro, Ionio, Banana, Agios Nikolaos 4-15 minutes from the accommodation walk along the beach. Porto Roma, the famous Gerakas and the great beach of Daphni is 3 kilometres away. These wonderful, golden beaches with clear, shallow waters are ideal for adults and children and have a lot of options such as showers, sun beds for rent, scuba diving, water skiing and paragliding and sea bikes. Some of the water sports are not allowed at some of the beaches to protect the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta

Driving Directions

FROM THE PORT: As you leave from the main exit of the port you turn on the left, in about 300 meters you will see a small bridge with a river, you pass it and then turn again on the left and you will see a sign that says: to Argasi-Vassilikos, take that road and after 13 km at Vassilikos village on the main road at your right side you will see a patrol station.
Pass it and about 300meters you are at Potamia area. At your right side you find a fruit market at the left side of the fruit market there is a country road takes you to the sea.
Follow this road about 70m. and at your left you will see «Arazzo»accommodation.

FROM THE AIRPORT: As you exit from the main exit of the airport follow that wide road, at the end of that road, turn on the right and at the second traffic lights (approx 3,4 km) turn again on the right and at about 70 meters you will see a small river with a bridge, you continue on that route and at the third traffic lights, turn again on the left. After two turns of the road you go straight towards ARGASI-VASILIKOS.

Hiking: The area is perfect for hiking all year round, but in Spring and Autumn the wild flowers carpet the fields and roadsides, and the temperatures can be more conducive to long hikes, so don't limit your holiday to the Summer months.
Water sports: St. Nicholas Beach has a huge choice available from paragliding, banana and gringo rides or diving. The reef here is also excellent for snorkeling with its underwater caves and even the chance to see octopus.

Boat trips: You can enjoy a relaxing day onboard a catamaran in the National Marine Park and learn about the turtles from the volunteers, and, hopefully, spot one in it's natural habitat. A full day trip is available to circumnavigate the island with several swim stops including one at the famous Shipwreck Beach. If you explore further afield by car, you can take a boat from Skinari (the most northerly point of the island) to visit Shipwreck Beach, and swim or snorkel in The Blue Caves. The sea here really is an unbelievable blue and a must to see. There is also a pod of monk seals resident in the area.

Coach Trips: Take a guided tour to see the beauty and diversity the island has to offer. Visit the famous craft village of Volimes, St. Dennis' monastery, and the platform perched on top of the cliffs above Shipwreck Beach.

If you fancy a more exhilarating trip, why not try the jeep safari and see "hidden" Zakynthos. Explorer our neighbouring Island Kefalonia with it's high Mountains and beautiful coastline. Diving, riding, paragliding, swimming, walking and snorkelling. Zakynthos island offering museums and all other amenities.
