SEA WORLD WHALE WATCH VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME
Australia's Gold Coast.

Sea World Whale Watch is offering a rare opportunity to be involved in the first long-term whale and dolphin research study on Australia?s Gold Coast.

During the 2010 whale season (May to November) positions are available for suitable volunteers to crew aboard the world?s most advanced whale watching vessel Spirit of Migloo.

WHAT WOULD I BE REQUIRED TO DO AS A VOLUNTEER?
? Assist in spotting whales and dolphins and other marine mammals
? Take the GPS position of all whales and dolphin pods sighted
? Collect data on whale and dolphin numbers, behaviour, activities
? Collect data on sea conditions, weather

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED TO BE A VOLUNTEER?
Ability to speak, understand and write in English.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
2 weeks AUD $800
4 weeks AUD $1,600
3 months AUD $4,320
5 months AUD $6,800

Quoted cost does not include travel, airfares, meals, accommodation or insurance. A uniform fee of $200 is mandatory for all volunteers and the uniform is retained by the volunteer at the conclusion of their volunteer period. The branded Sea World Whale Watch crew uniform consists of cap, polo-shirt, shorts, vest and jacket. Other Terms & Conditions apply to this volunteer programme. All costs quoted include GST.
